We're now halfway through the fly fishing season, and it's certainly been an unusual one.

The prolonged warm weather and repeated heatwaves have brought exceptionally low water levels across many rivers, making fishing conditions more challenging than most of us are used to. Like many anglers, we've often found ourselves weighing up whether it's the right time to head to the river or whether it's better to give the fish and the water a little breathing space. It's never an easy decision, but the welfare of our fisheries will always come first.

The good news is that, as we move towards the latter half of the season, we're hopeful that cooler temperatures and a little more rainfall will bring rivers and stillwaters back to their best. Late summer and early autumn often produce some of the most enjoyable fishing of the year, and we're looking forward to seeing those conditions return.
